About

Marina Esmeraldo is a multidisciplinary artist, illustrator and mentor from Fortaleza, Brazil, now based in Barcelona. Her work draws on a tropical upbringing, a Modernist training in Architecture and her innate wanderlust.

She combines her artistic projects and research for exhibitions and installations with commissioned pieces for select brands. Get in touch if you’d like to discuss any projects.

Marina is also passionate about public speaking and teaching creatives how to overcome limiting beliefs and make a living from their art. Find her free tools and courses in the navigation menu above.

Artist Statement

Marina is interested in the tension between alienation and belonging through travelling: a product of moving between continents and cultures since childhood, she constantly seeks to place-make through memory and signification. Working across disciplines and materials through the abstract re-composition of places visited and imagined, she represents consciousness shaped by inner perception, in order to make sense of her constant otherness: the architecture of emotional places.
